28 Weeks!

Look at me!  Right on time today : )

Today's date: Wednesday, April 27, 2011

How far along: 28 weeks or 7 months!

Sex: Girlie Girl!

Maternity clothes: Lots of maternity pants and a good mix of maternity + pre-pregnancy shirts.

Sleep: I haven't been sleeping as well as I had, but I think that's due to the rise in temperature outside, and thus in our upstairs.  I don't know what I'm going to do come July!

Best moment(s) of the week:  Brad and I made pierogies on Easter Sunday morning and then spent the rest of our Easter out in Greensburg with my Mucci family...always so fun being with them : )

Movement: More and more every day...but then again, there are days when I don't feel her much at all.

Food cravings/aversions: Nada.

Morning sickness: Nada.

Symptoms: I'm hot!  All the time!

Labor signs:
 Way too soon.

Belly button in or out:
Its still in, but is still getting more and more shallow.

What I miss:
Not being so hot all the time.  And, I miss wearing my wedding rings.

What I'm looking forward to: I'm looking forward to another weekend at home.  The past month has been go-go-go that its nice when you have a weekend (or two) at home to get stuff done...especially around our house, there's lots to be done!

Size and growth of our baby: Baby is now the size of a CHINESE CABBAGE! (huh)?

This week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Bump: 27 Weeks!

I didn't realize it had been a month since my last bump post...gosh, time is just going by way too quickly!

And for a little side-by-side comparison to see how much growing has happened in the last four weeks...

I'd say there's definitely a baby belly going on these days!

Bump!

I know that a lot of you have been waiting feverishly for some updated pictures...and we finally took some this weekend.  I went to upload them last night and my camera died halfway through the upload.  It was late, so I didn't get to charge and try again.

But don't worry.  Camera battery is at home charging and you will all get pictures tonight : )  Ok?

Side note: Brad and I were walking through Lowe's a few nights ago when one of the female employees there walks by us and goes "Oooooo, there's a baby bump!!!!".  It was the first time a stranger has commented on my belly, so it really must be showing these days : )

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend.  I'll have pictures to share of our Easter festivities, too!

B-Ready

After lots of back and forth and much debate about our stroller purchase, we finally made a decision this past Sunday and bought the B-Ready by Britax (in Black...surprise surprise).  It was really a last minute game time decision between the B-Ready and the Indie by Bumbleride.

B-Ready

versus

Indie

Both serve dual purposes and I liked that I could get two strollers out of one.  The B-Ready has 14 different configurations and can even accommodate two babies/toddlers, with an additional seat.  When we saw it in person at Buy Buy Baby, we really liked how small it folded up, considering what a large stroller it is.  I also love that I can have the seat facing forward or backward.

The Indie was about $100 cheaper (which I thought Brad would love) but also has a lot of cool features, most obvious is their awesome color choices.  I love the green and blue, although I still would have gone with plain old black, so I couldn't really consider the color options in my decision.  This stroller's dual purpose is that it doubles as a jogging stroller.  It only has one wheel up front and all of the tires are air inflated, as opposed to whatever rubbery material all others are made of.  The one thing we didn't like about this stroller is how bulky it still was when it was folded.  It would never have fit in the tiny trunk of my hatchback.

So, the question was: 1. Do we want a stroller that doubles as a jogging stroller or a double stroller?  But that all changed when we got to BBB and realized that if we bought the B-Ready, we would get the infant car seat (the one that we originally wanted) for free.  Yes.  We'd get a $229 infant car seat for free.

That made the decision pretty clear and after a 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond coupon, and $80 worth of gift cards that we received at baby shower #2, we were out the door with the stroller of my dreams for a little over $100 out of our pockets!

(Brad's parents got us the Chaperone car seat, so we returned that (only to get it back for free) and then put that money towards the purchase of the stroller, which is why we ended up only having to pay about $100 out of our pockets.)

So, basically, we got the set that we wanted (car seat & stroller) that would have come to a combined total of over $700+tax for a little over $300+tax.

I'd say that's a deal!

Now, we're on to baby monitors.  I'll let you know how that decision goes : )

27 Weeks!

I know.  I'm lame.  I didn't get the "26 Weeks!" post up last week and I haven't posted a belly picture in awhile.  I feel really guilty about it so stop making me feel worse!

Things have been a little chaotic around here lately (I guess I should get used to that) and Brad (my in-house photographer) has been traveling a lot the past three weeks.

So those are my excuses.

Anyway...

Today's date: Wednesday, April 20, 2011

How far along: 27 weeks!  This is my last week in my second trimester.  Next week I'll enter the third trimester, which seems crazy!

Sex: Girlie Girl!

Maternity clothes: I'm starting to wear a lot more maternity shirts, thanks to my mom who took me shopping last weekend and bought me a few maternity shirts (and some new slippers)!  Thanks Mom : )  I also bought another pair of maternity jeans and they're actually really cute...and comfortable.  I don't know why I haven't been wearing jeans with elastic waist bands all along ; )

Sleep: I've been sleeping really well.  My hands haven't been getting as numb as they were last week, either.  I've really tried to up my potassium, so maybe that's helping.

Best moment(s) of the week:  My mother-in-law hosted baby shower #2 on Saturday, with all of her extended family, a lot of whom I didn't know.  So, it was really great to meet a lot of these people that she always talks about.  Everyone was so excited for us and we are very grateful for all the wonderful gifts we received.  I'm starting to feel a lot more prepared...at least in the "stuff" department.

Movement: More and more every day...but then again, there are days when I don't feel her much at all.

Food cravings/aversions: Nada.

Morning sickness: Nada.

Symptoms: My back still gives me trouble once in awhile, but not nearly as much as it did pre-chiro.

Labor signs:
 Way too soon.

Belly button in or out:
Its still in, but is still getting more and more shallow.

What I miss:
A clear complexion on my back and shoulders and normal lung capacity.

What I'm looking forward to: Brad and I are staying in Pittsburgh for Easter this year (this is a first) so we're going to have dinner with my Gram & Pap on Sunday.  Really looking forward to that.

Size and growth of our baby: Baby is now the size of a HEAD OF CAULIFLOWER!

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

25 Weeks!

Today's date: Wednesday, April 6, 2011

How far along: 25 weeks!

Sex: Girlie Girl!

Maternity clothes: A good mix, but I think I need to go out and add to my maternity specific wardrobe.  My belly is getting bigger and some of my normal shirts are getting a little too short for my liking.

Sleep: Finally had a great night of sleep the past two nights, since I've gotten over that nasty cold/laryngitis.

Best moment(s) of the week:  Sunday night when Brad got the kitchen sink hooked up!  And...having EW in town...she helped me with so so so much!

Movement: More and more every day...but then again, there are days when I don't feel her much at all.

Food cravings/aversions: Nada.

Morning sickness: Nada.

Symptoms: Is it weird that I don't have any symptoms?

Labor signs:
 Way too soon.

Belly button in or out:
Its still in, but is still getting more and more shallow.

What I miss:
A clear complexion on my back and shoulders.

What I'm looking forward to: My first baby shower on Saturday with my Mucci family!

Size and growth of our baby: Baby is now the length of an EGGPLANT!

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
